The Journey That Made Me a Medium

As a little girl, I always knew I had a gift. I would see shadows and things out of the corner of my eye that I couldn't explain. I would have incredibly vivid, in-depth dreams—dreams that would later come true. I didn't fully understand what was happening to me, but somewhere deep inside, I always knew there was something different about the way I experienced the world. What I didn't know was just how much my gift would eventually shape my life.

It wasn't until I turned thirty that everything changed. My family experienced an unexpected and devastating loss: my brother, Joshua. When Joshua first passed, I could hear him in my mind. I could feel that he was trying to get through to me. But every time I tried to communicate with him, it felt like there was an invisible barrier between us. I could sense him, but I couldn't seem to break through. His death shattered me in ways I never could have imagined.

For an entire year, I carried that grief with me. And then, somehow, I found the courage to take the first step toward something I had dreamed about since I was a little girl. I signed up for my very first mediumship class. But life wasn't finished testing me. Just two weeks before my first class began, I experienced another unimaginable loss. I lost my significant other of six years. Two devastating deaths. A year and a half apart. And somehow, I was standing at the doorway of the dream I had carried with me since childhood.

You truly never know how strong you are until life forces you to find out. I had a choice. I could allow my life to spiral into the darkness of everything I had lost, or I could search for whatever strength I had left and use it to move forward. So I chose to move forward.

I had always dreamed of becoming a medium—not simply because I wanted to communicate with those who had passed, but because I wanted to help people heal. As a little girl, I dreamed of using this gift to bring comfort, hope, and connection to people who were hurting.

I never imagined that I would have to experience so much heartbreak myself before I could truly understand the people I hoped to help. For a month, my mentor helped me get my foot in the door with mediumship. After that, I taught myself the rest. I practiced. I struggled. I doubted myself. I kept going. For the past two years, I have poured my heart and soul into sculpting the medium I am today. This journey hasn't been easy, and it certainly hasn't happened overnight. Every experience, every loss, every lesson, and every person I've encountered has shaped me into who I am. Through it all, I have never walked alone.

Without God, my spirit guides, and my angels, I would not be where I am today. And perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of this journey is knowing that the people I've lost haven't truly left me behind. My departed loved ones have become part of this incredible journey with me. In their own way, they have helped guide me toward the person and medium I was always meant to become.

Today, I don't just see my gift as something I was born with. I see it as something I was entrusted with. Every time I connect with someone who is grieving, every time I bring through a message that brings comfort, and every time I watch someone feel a little less alone, I understand why I had to keep going.

I may never understand why I had to experience the losses I did, but I know they changed me. They broke me open. They pushed me toward my purpose. And now, I get to help others heal—one person, one message, and one connection at a time. The little girl who dreamed of becoming a medium never could have imagined the road she would have to walk to get here.

But today, I look back at her with so much love. Because she knew. She always knew.
